Happy Birthday Audrey Hepburn!

Today is Audrey Hepburn's birthday. If she were still living, she would be 83 years old. Not only has she defined women's fashion with her classic and impeccable style, but she has been an inspiration to so many women and more to come! She has that something - or would it be everything - about her that you are drawn to. She was talented, generous, and the lady always had some damn good eye brows. I've always loved her style and have found her to be a huge inspiration. Her encouraging words to just live and just be happy is something that can help get you through your day, and could be a great reminder for everyone.

A perfectly charming lady! Ladies, can we be more like Audrey? Let's just be happy, encouraging, and some days - let's dress a little classier.

Oh, and we'll all need to get a pet deer. I am a-ok with that.

A Thifted Handmade Dress :: Favorites

Let me introduce you to 

one of my FAVORITE dresses OF ALL TIME. 

I found this dress some time last year. You might recognize it from being in my main blog photo for a while.

I thrifted it at a dinky little thrift store off Chicago Ave. for only $6.00. It's made from a real thick heavy canvas (I almost feel potato shacky in it!) but the details of the cut outs are amazing. I had to take in the darts a little, and it wouldn't hurt to take it in a little more, but I'm comfortable in it right now. Not too baggy, not too tight! I think it's handmade because there are no tags on it, and the seams on it seem to look a little off. But I love that it has a little but of issues, it makes it even more special to me.

The little rose floral belt was found at the Pilsen Vintage bazaar last winter.

::Moving update::
We're slowly unpacking. The living room furniture and the TV is set up so we're able to relax, but the rest of the place is a slow painful process as I try to unpack with the sorest muscles I've ever encountered. We spent from 9AM to 12:30AM on the run and unpacking [while going down 2 flights of stairs, and back up 3 flights]. It was really hot that day too.
But let me tell you, I've been sleeping like a baby knowing that James and I have our OWN place. We have such a similar. It's wonderful.

This a list of things I do at least once a week, or have done this past month.

• watching cheesy 70s films
• wearing marihuana shirts
• bought a pair of 70's vintage wooden bottom sandals (james thought they were so ugly at least but i need my feetsies to breathe! plus, no one else has them. i love that about owning vintage)
  
• purchased my second pair of bell-bottoms (in my brain at the store... good brain: "don't do it man... you don't need them" better brain: "but these are vintage treasures! you NEED them." So what'd I do?)
• farrah-ing my hair out
• too much that 70's show
• bought new sunglasses [see below please!]
  
• day-dreamt huddled in a soaking wet tent in a muddy field with the dirtiest of friends, as I watch this 3 part Woodstock documentary

I've decided to create a little collage of fun photos from by my Bird Trouble pouch + the 70's generation.
Oh how I wish I had those shoes.
