The Bohemian Collective Winter Lookbook 2012 : NEW MOON.

The Bohemian Collective's MAGIC MOON lookbook went live today. I couldn't be more blown away, again, by Laura, Katelyn, and Gina. The Bohemian Collective is a group of artists I've been apart of for some time now. Laura brought us all together, to make what we do, in hopes of giving love, inspiring others, and giving back to a cause. She's spent countless hours dedicating herself to this project and she's been such an inspiration to me.

This season, TBC is donating to Sevenly. I'm so proud to say that I'm apart of this group. You can see the Bird Trouble Dyed & Bleach Fringe Bag / Clutch on page 209 & if you're interested in purchasing, a close version to it can be purchased here.

Follow The Bohemian Collective's blog to keep up with all then happenings.
Let us know what you think! Thank you for taking the time to explore.

Im excited to bring you a preview of The Bohemian Collective's Fall 2012 lookbook!!  We are set to launch on Monday, the 20th.  The group of artisans in this collection is purely amazing.  Some you have seen before, and some new.  One exciting new thing this season was working with the talented photographer, Katelyn Demidow, with shooting all of the images for this collection.  It has brought a new element to the already beautiful thing we have going on here.  I couldnt be more excited for this release!  Between now and then, you might see a few changes happening here on the blog as we prepare for the launch.  I would absolutely love it if you wanted to share this image along with a link to our blog, on any of your social networking sites, or blogs!  I love the community feel that we have going on here... Big thanks in advance for doing so.

PEACE AND LOVE,
Laura of The Bohemian Collective

What's the Bohemian Collective?

What is the Bohemian Collective?
Last week I shared a post about The Bohemian Collective and the custom bag that I made for Laura for the project. I feel like I need to emphasize more on it. I don't want this idea to get lost in my others posts so I wanted to share a little more in depth information about it. I am so excited for Bird Trouble to be apart of a good cause and with a group of great designers. I love this project that Laura from Roots and Feathers and Kelly Ann from The Flowerchild Dwelling worked so hard on.

The Bohemian Collective is a pile of artists, designers, and companies who came together to create pieces and help the style the mood for this amazing place. We are here not only to inspire you, but show you what we're all about. Lace, feathers, lines, bold colors and patterns are paired with lusty tones and soft photos to create this Summer's dreamy look-book. Laura took an idea of styling those who have cohesive styles, and making into an entire project she's passionate about. Moorea Seal explained it in a blog post, and thanks to Poor Pitiful Pearl for re-blogging it, I wanted to share with you how Moorea explained it here...

"The Bohemian Collective is comprised of a rotating group of artisans and companies that have joined efforts to create a place where we inspire creativity and giving through our art and vision. We have a beautiful website that one of my favorite friends on the web, Kelly Ann of The Flowerchild Dwelling, has created for us.  So to learn more about the Bohemian Collective, what we are all about, to learn more about our companies and small businesses, and how we would like to encourage you to donate to our current charity project, please head over to the website!  Each season, we focus on raising money for one cause that we all care deeply about.  All proceeds of this summer season's fundraiser will benefit To Write Love On Her Arms, a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. I'm so excited to share this project with you guys so head over to the site to explore away!  And be sure to send a big congrats to Laura and Kelly Ann for launching the site!  Below are a few of my favorite images from the lookbook that Laura shot and modeled for.  Aren't they so dreamy?"

We're here to support a cause through business, art, fashion, and creativity. The items in the look-book are unfortunately not for sale, but I encourage you to check out the designers on the Left side of the Bohemian Collective blog, to see what else they have to offer. We're all a bunch of different personalities, but similar tastes, and we're here for the same reason. You can donate to the cause, but if you cant, don't worry! You can also re-pin photos from the look-book to your Pinterest, tweet about us, add some photos to your Tumblr with a link to the blog, grab a button for your blog, spread the word!

To learn about the artists and companies involved, feel free to read over here.

Thank you ahead of time for helping us and for taking the time to check us out. If you haven't already, add The Bohemian Collective to your reads!

xoxo, Alexz.

The Bohemian Collective & Bird Trouble

Hey everyone! A few weeks ago, Laura from Roots & Feathers asked me if I could create a custom bag for her if she sent me fabric. OF COURSE, I was jumped to the opportunity. I felt almost honored because I've found Laura to be inspiring ever since I´ve known about her. I've been a follower of her blog for a few years now and have watched her businesses grow, become Etsy featured seller, flourish and become what she is now... and man, she is rad.

When she asked me, she also told me about the project she wanted to use the bag for. She pitched her idea of a lookbook that she could style and photograph for. Eventually this idea of a lookbook turned into a whole blog! This is where The Bohemian Collective comes in. The Bohemian Collective features a collaboration of artists and designers looking to give back, and hopefully make a difference in the world. It was just released yesterday and have been glowing rays of happiness all day. Here are the words from the Mission Statement that can be found here

"The artists and companies in The Bohemian Collective have joined efforts to create a place where we inspire creativity and giving through our art and vision. This rotating collaboration of artists will orchestrate inspiring, seasonal lookbooks featuring our handmade clothing, jewelry, and home accessories. Our desire is to share the love within our community as far as we can! This is where you can help. We invite anyone to participate by making a donation in any amount you choose which will be allocated to a specific charity each season. All proceeds this summer will benefit To Write Love On Her Arms, a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. To read more about their organization, please read here."

I came up with two designs. A large fringe satchel shoulder bag and fairly large a clutch. Here they are!

Laura sent me a window valance with this really great print tribal bohemian print. She loved the fringe in my Fringe Satchels so I went to the thrift store with the fabric to find the perfect leather jacket to cut up. It was only the first time I went when my eyes met this grape purple, horribly ugly shaped, leather jacket. There were drawstrings at the wrists, one of those a huge half rain flaps on the back, and it was a huge size. Haha, I just remember it being super unflattering, BUT I loved the color. I knew it'd be perfectly pair together with the fabric, while still thinking of Laura's style. There was more than enough window valance, so I made her a clutch too.

I am completely taken away and honored to be apart of something so special and with so many other talented ladies, such as these few ladies I already knew of and looked up to. Such as Moorea Seal,  Poor Pitiful Pearl,  The Art and Found, Flourish (to name a few). Head on over, listen to the music shuffle at the bottom  of the page, and be inspired by all of the wild talent of all the artisans involved.

Thank you Laura for asking me to be apart of this and thank you Kelly Ann // The Flowerchild Dwelling for your great work on the blog design!
