Hey Bob, take 25% off.

A man is a success if he wakes up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between he does what he wants to. - Bob Dylan

Happy birthday Bob Dylan. Internet shout-out, heeeey, thank you to a man who´s inspired to me write, to think, and who gives me days filled with songs to help me get through the good and the hell while I live and create. Here´s a little story for you...

I´ll always remember the day I saw him live. I was drunk at 18 (or wait... was I really 17?) in Grand Rapids, MI… off of Miller light (uh, we were given a, or two, beers illegally. note: DO NOT DO WHAT MY FRIENDS AND I DO. this is just to share a piece of the amazing youth I have, and will never regret). I´m 85% sure that the choice of Miller light may be a fact, and considering this day that I do not enjoy Miller light one bit, I´d say that was a poor choice in beer on my end. I went with two awesome dude friends and one of those dude´s awesome dad. While my friend´s dad rode up in his motorcycle, we rode in a purple volkswagon rabbit with a bunch of gatorade. I remember it was really hot that day, there was tons of traffic, and we played a lot of Billy Bragg. Think of this: you´re in a tiny volkswagon, the top was down, looking all vintage and adorable as all hell... and it was purple… oh, and it was a stick. It ruled. Here are some photos I, or we, took during the 2 days we were in Grand Rapids, MI and that I´ve kept since then, and have pretty much made the decision that I will keep them forever.

  1. It's amazing how much we enjoy the same things. Different times, different motivating circumstances. Different values we had to conform to, delt with different ways, but result is that I love the way and respect the way you live.

    1. I want to go visit Grand Rapids again and see how it's developed. When I went there, there was only a record shop and a vintage shop that caught our eye, besides for the slummed buildings that made for good photos.
