The Final Countdown

It's the final countdown.... *head bangs*

Less than one more week until we're in our new apartment. Six more nights until I can sleep in our new apartment where it's just going to be the two of us. James and I are so, so anxious to be able to walk around at any time of day in our underwear, to be able to sleep with the door open, to be able to sleep in late in peace, and to have the solitude and a home for our mini family.

We're already packed. The only things that need boxes are my clothes and, while there's not a lot; there's only three drawers full and a half a rack full. I don't know about you but that's not a lot to me. I guess I do have a lot of shoes.... oh, crap. We had to unpack a pot last night so I could make my mac&cheese with hot-dog-cut-up in it, hehe.

I'm just so looking forward to what can be accomplished in our own place! If I seem to have disappeared a little bit, that is why. Filling up and decorating a two bedroom apartment is going to take up most of my time. Eek, I'll finally have a work room not in my bedroom!

Here's a selection of photos that have been inspiring myself (and, sometimes, James) in the decorating process. Fortunately, we're basically the same person (separated into two very attracted-to bodies- thank god), and we have a lot of the same tastes in decorating.

While lurking through Etsy articles last night, we spent 30 minutes gogaling and drooling over Amy Burkhart's home.

I love thrifted looks. This looks like what I have right now= random, mismatched, and used. I also love that Work Hard poster.

With more color pops, this would be my dream work space. Organized but neat, with room to walk about, and still feel cozy. Give me some more color, orchids, and metal baskets, then we'll be set. Yum!

When is Alexz going to get her vintage green stove?!

I'd love to have a Desert Camper print, along with a million others, from Leah Giberson.

I really love these French 1950's shot glasses. I'm personally not taking much shots (I like a cold beer), but they might be too perfectly colorful to resist.

Our deck is tiny but I really want to make it cozy. I love these hanging lights in the jars.

Romantic living room movie nights!

I keep going back to the gray tones with pops of color. This couch also is calling my name. How I'd love to be on that couch right now watching Netflix and eating a chocolate covered banana...

xoxo,
Alexz

We have super similar taste, by the way. Good taste, I might say. ;)
