Polaroid of my dad and I taken at the Taste of Chicago.
My dad and I drastically drifted apart for a lot of time during my pre-teen years up until almost nearly recent. Which is unfortunate, but that's life. I'm happy that we're recently gaining more of a consistent relationship and seeing each other as... you know, humans. At this point in my age, I'm realizing the values and similar personality traits that I have in common with each of my parents. Out of a bunch of things I learned from my dad, these are three things that I think we strongly have in common:
1) my will to survive and stubbornness to do what I have to do.
2) my curiosity of the world and travel.
3) wanting humble happiness and security.
Happy Fathers Day, dad.
